Pretium Packaging LLC has agreed to pay more than $75,000 to settle alleged violations at two plastic bottle manufacturing facilities, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced.

EPA said the Chesterfield, Mo.-based company violated the Clean Air Act’s risk management program requirements at its facility in Manchester, Pa., and a now-closed facility in Muscatine, Iowa.

In a statement, EPA said both alleged violations involved fluorine. The Manchester location did not have adequate safeguards in place for the fluorine process equipment, did not file a risk management plan in a timely manner and did not have updated emergency contact information. The company also did not have a risk management plan for fluorine at the Muscatine facility, EPA alleged.

The company did not admit liability for the violations, but is now in compliance of the requirements, EPA said.
