Envision Inc., a nonprofit company that employs visually-impaired workers, recently launched production of compostable plastic tablecloths.

A line of eco-friendly party supplies and tableware now will include compostable tablecloths made by a Wichita, Kan.-based nonprofit that provides work for blind and visually-impaired workers.

Envision Inc. will produce seven different bioplastic table cloths for Susty Party, a Brooklyn, N.Y.-based company. The tablecloths will vary in color and pattern and be made at Envision’s manufacturing facility in Wichita.

Workers at Envision will receive raw material, cut it to length, fold the tablecloths and insert them into the Susty Party packaging. They will complete the packaging process by binding four tablecloths together, Envision said.

The nonprofit also will sell the entire Susty Party line, including cups, cutlery, napkins, plates, bowls and paper straws, on a commission basis.

“Our employees take great pride in their jobs and in the items they produce. Adding Susty Party to our list of business partners reflects a key component of the product diversity initiative outlined in our strategic plan,” Envision CEO Michael Monteferrante said in a statement.
