Milwaukee-based Triangle Tool has stepped up its sampling capabilities with the addition of a 4,400-ton KraussMaffei coinjection molding machine, the mold builder has announced. The KM 4000-17200 MX, capable of producing parts up to 70 lbs, is the company’s largest injection molding machine.

“The sampling ability is something that we didn’t have on the real large end, which is what our customers needed, so that’s why we brought it in,” said Daniel Gougé, Triangle’s vice president of sales.

The company currently samples at 1,000, 1,100 and 3,000 tons, Gougé said. The new machine is currently being assembled and tested, and is expected to be operational in May.

The new injection molding equipment, combined with a recent 8,000-square-foot expansion to make room for the machine, represents an investment of around $5 million for Triangle, Gougé said.

Privately owned Triangle Tool operates a 205,000-square-foot facility in Milwaukee. The company specializes in building large molds for the appliance, home product, industrial and automotive industries.
