A workplace incident at Woodbridge, Ontario, blow molder CRS Plastics Ltd. left a woman employee dead.

CRS staff called police about 5 a.m. March 29 to report an industrial accident in which a woman sustained serious injuries that led to her death, according to local news reports.

The private company specializes in high density polyethylene handleware bottles in sizes from two to 16 liters. Its key markets are agricultural, chemical, food, detergent, automotive and pet supplies. The company was established in 1984.

Ontario’s Ministry of Labour has begun an investigation into the incident. A news report indicated the woman was pinned under a piece of machinery. The factory was closed for the weekend after the accident.

CRS says on its website that its services include sleeve and label application, flame treating and spout application.
