The owner of a plastics routing company was arrested for allegedly attempting to hire an enforcer to take care of a former employee who had won a labor dispute settlement.

Lt. Ron Raman said that Joseph Mosis, 52, of Pittsburg, Calif., and the owner of Monsam Enterprises Inc., was arrested on Feb. 21, and is currently in custody at the county jail with bail set at $1 million. Raman said the District Attorney's office is filing charges for conspiracy to commit aggravated mayhem and solicitation.

Raman said police had received information that Mosis was looking for an enforcer, so they sent an undercover officer to pose as a hit man.

During the meeting with the undercover officer, Mosis provided graphic details of how he wanted the former employee disfigured, according to police. They also agreed upon a price.

Mosis was arrested shortly after the meeting and search warrants were served on his home and business.

Police said Mosis did not have prior criminal record.
